Description of the Coin

Front

The Flags of the three great powers, the United States, Great Britain and the Soviet Union form a ' V ' for Victory. The star of David at the center represents the Jewish brigade of the British Army and the 1.5 million Jewish soldiers who fought in the armies of all nations.

Reverse

The denomination "1, 2 or 10" at the top with the date "1995/5755" in Hebrew and English below. At the left, the official emblem of the State of Israel. The words "FIFTY YEARS SINCE THE VICTORY OVER NAZI GERMANY" in English and Hebrew, around the rim. "Israel" inscribed in Hebrew, English and Arabic below the date.

The uncirculated silver coin is mintmarked with a 6 pointed star below "Israel". The proof coins are mintmarked with a Hebrew 'mem'.

Uncirculated: A Mint State coin struck on a standard planchet. It will display a matte type finish. A small six pointed "Star of David" mintmark struck on the "Victory" coin at the bottom.

Proof: A coin which was made with special care. The coins are struck using polished dies. The planchets are specially selected and polished. The coins exhibit a mirror-like surface in the fields and a frosted appearance on the raised points of the coin. A small Hebrew 'mem' mintmark is struck on the "Victory" coin at the bottom.
